IN THE NEWS | International Dredging Review features Oceanit's RiSE Team

Hawai’i is accutely aware that we must lead the charge on solutions to sea level rise and other environmental concerns, and Oceanit specifically is receiving international attention for our focus on Sustainable and Resilient Engineering. An April 18th publication by International Dredging Review (IDR) featured Oceanit’s RiSE team, in particular Dr. Michael Foley, and our work on the Kahana Beach Nourishment project (Maui) as an example of innovating to address both ecological and human needs through engineering. IDR spoke about the process of Oceanit’s selection for the project and the studies required to complete this complex beach restoration in a responsible and sustainable manner, while keeping the stakeholders opinions at the forefront- that is, the property owners and occupants that are the most immediately affected by any course of action taken to restore the beach and surrounding area.
