Honolulu, March 3, 2025 – Oceanit’s AI-powered surface intelligence technology was highlighted this month in Materials Performance Magazine as a game-changer for U.S. military maintenance, with the potential to significantly improve mission readiness.
The article explores how current U.S. Air Force waterjet cleaning systems rely on outdated, preset movement patterns, which often fail to adequately clean equipment like aircraft, and other mission-critical assets. These inefficiencies contribute to low mission readiness rates, with only 30% of the F-35 fleet fully mission capable.
To address these challenges, Oceanit is developing an AI-driven surface intelligence system, built on its RIVEAL platform, which enables real-time assessment of surfaces using machine vision. This technology eliminates the need for manual inspections and allows robotic cleaning arms to adapt dynamically to different surfaces, coatings, and levels of corrosion—ensuring a more precise and efficient cleaning process.
