The 2022 Hawaii Computer Science (CS) Professional Development (PD) Pre-Summit is the annual PD event for all Hawaii education-related professionals, including but not limited to teachers, counselors, administrators, industry professionals and community partners who teach and/or support CS education. The virtual Pre-Summit event provides an overview of the state of CS along with a preview of the upcoming CS learning resources and professional development opportunities.

Launched in Hawaii in 2017 as a PDE3 for teachers, Altino teachers and Altino cars can be found in almost every complex area statewide today. The Altino system and cars which were invented by a PhD in robotics from Korea, but has been adapted so teachers can earn 3 PD credits, is www.Arduino.cc, python, and SCRATCH compatible, and cars can be programmed to drive autonomously like a Tesla! Altino is used by elementary to University students around the world. So come and learn to code in 10 minutes using our new virtual car, and learn what is Altino and what it is not, and where it can add fun, creativity and engagement in your classroom.
