The Pacific Water Conference, sponsored by the American Water Works Association Hawaii Section and the Hawaii Water Environment Association, features over 75 technical sessions spread out over six concurrent tracks. Speakers include utility staff, consultants, vendors, regulators, and other professionals covering topics about water, wastewater, and stormwater. Topics range from backflow prevention and sewer cleaning to mobile asset management and resilient infrastructure design.

Altino Coding Fundraiser to Send Three Students to South Korea

Learn to Code and Help Raise Money to Send the Hawaii Team to South Korea! Oceanit is hosting an introductory Altino coding class on Saturday and Sunday as a fundraiser to send three confirmed students to South Korea for the annual Saeon International Autonomous Coding Challenge on September 15th. The students would act as special guests of the South Korean Governement, who would be taking care of their hotel, meals, and ground transportation. All proceeds of the event will be contributed to their trip. Why Learn Altino? Altino was recently featured on Hawaii News Now as the first in its kind coding teaching platform to be launched into the school cirriculums of many public schools in the state of Hawaii. Click here to watch the full feature.  Altino training is geared for the non-coder. So if you have no experience with coding, this class is made for you. Altino is a teaching platform geared to make coding hands-on, inspiring, and fun. Learn more about why coding matters.  Registration Information Introduction Altino Class will be hosted on Saturday and Sunday. Please pick one of the two classes. You will only need to register ONCE. Once you setup an Eventbrite account and login, the session registration will take 2 mins. Be sure to add the dates to your calendar. Eventbrite.com makes it easy by including a "Add to Calendar" button for each session. Seating is limited to 30 attendees per session. Tickets will go FAST. Location The trainings will be held at KS Halau ʻInana, 2438 S. Beretania St. You can find free parking in front of the Halau, and free street parking as well. There is paid parking at JCCH (Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii) Cost Fundraiser price will go for $100 vs the regular one day price of $200. Teachers & educators, innovators & disruptors! Join our Altino System training courses, presented by Kamehameha Schools & Oceanit. The course for educators is a fun way to learn about computer programming in core programming languages like C, Visual C++, Java, Android, Scratch, and other coding languages. The Altino system helps non-coders, like many educators, to teach & spread coding throughout Hawaii’s educational system. Classes are limited to 15 per starting session, and costs $395 for the four sessions.
