May 13, 2025 | Honolulu, HI – We’re excited to announce the launch of a new podcast, Intellectual Anarchy, featuring Dr. Patrick K. Sullivan, Founder and CEO of Oceanit, with co-host Catherine Cruz of Hawaii Public Radio’s The Conversation and member of the HPR news team.
Premiering this week, the new podcast is sponsored by the Oceanit Research Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on positively impacting Hawaii’s communities through lifelong learning, innovative programs, community outreach, and STEM missions that benefit all learners – young and old.
Season one of the new conversation-driven show explores approaches to disruptive innovation as outlined in Sullivan’s 2020 book, Intellectual Anarchy: The Art of Disruptive Innovation. The show will explore how to think about solving “impossible” problems, aiming to inspire students, business leaders, innovators, and creators to harness their imaginations and shape the future.
The first episode, “How We Think,” launches on YouTube (video) and all major streaming platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and iHeartRadio. Subsequent episodes will release bi-weekly, with Sullivan and Cruz discussing how a “Mind to Market” approach—transforming deep science into impactful market-ready solutions—impacts humans and societies near and far.
Intellectual Anarchy will explore persistent innovation, where businesses, entrepreneurs, and creative people can free themselves from conventional boundaries, enabling them to tackle seemingly impossible challenges. Season 1 consists of 13 episodes, available wherever you get your podcasts.
